sibiu1.jpg (7543 bytes) Day 1: Bucharest - Curtea de Arges - Sibiu

Pick-up from your hotel and drive to Curtea de Arges, a former capital of Valahia during the 14th century, where we visit the ruins of the Old Princely Court built by Vlad’s ancestors, and Manole’s Monastery, an architectural jewel from the 16th century. On the way to Sibiu, stop to visit Cozia Monastery, built in 14th century by Dracula's grandfather, Prince Mircea The Old. The beautiful Olt Valley takes you to Sibiu, once the richest town in Transilvania. Accommodation in Sibiu.

Day 2: Sibiu - Medias - Sighisoara

Start with the city tour in Sibiu, which includes the Evangelic Cathedral - where Vlad's son, Mihnea, was buried after his assassination just outside the church. Continue to Medias, the town where Vlad was kept prisoner by the Hungarian king Mathias Corvinus. Then drive to Sighisoara for overnight.

Sighisoara, the best-preserved medieval town in Romania is also the place where prince Vlad was born in 1431. A visit to the History Museum, The Arms Gallery and The Torture Room will send you back in medieval times. Depart for Brasov where Vlad’s enemies – the rich Saxon merchants – lived. After a brief city tour of Brasov, continue to Bran and visit the Castle, which guarded for centuries the border between Valahia and Transilvania. Accommodation in Sinaia– a beautiful mountain resort, also called “The Pearl of Carpathians”

Day 4 : Sinaia - Targoviste - Snagov - Bucuresti

Drive to Targoviste, the capital of Valahia during prince Vlad's reign, visit the ruins of the Old Court and the Chindie Tower built by Vlad as a watchtower and prison. After a visit to Targoviste, drive to Snagov Monastery - situated on a small island and pay a last respect to Vlad in front of his grave. Continue to Bucuresti, the capital of Romania, founded in 1459 by the mighty prince Vlad.
