Banks and exchange
There's a Bancomat ATM outside the train station, and others at Str. Balcescu 11, the Hotel Bulevard , the corner of Str. Brukenthal and Str. Mitropoliei, and at the rear of the Casa de Cultura. Prima, at Str. Cetatii 1, and Olt Vegas and TransEuropa, on Str. Balcescu, offer good rates for cash. IDM, at Str. Papiu Ilarian 12 (off Str. Balcescu) and at Piata Mica 9, accepts credit cards and travellers' cheques, but at poor rates.
Bike repair
At Str. 9 Mai 43, and Str. Aron Pumnul 16 (off Calea Dumbravii). SurMont, Str. Avram Iancu 25, sells cycle parts.
Books and maps
ThauSib, Piata Mica 3, and the Libraria Dacia Traiana, Piata Mare 7, sell books on Transylvanian architecture and culture, and English-language books.

Shopping Most stores are on Str. Balcescu: the best for imported foodstuffs is Nic at no. 30; slide film is available at Foto Universal, no. 17. The main department store, the Dumbrava, is on the far side of Piata Unirii, opposite the Continental hotel. Crafts can be bought at Arta Populara, Str. Avram Iancu 4 (closed Sun & Mon).
Sport Facilities are clustered around the open-air swimming pool, the Strand, on Sos. Alba Iulia, while there's an indoor Olympic-size swimming pool on B-dul Victoriei. Sibiu's football team, FC InterSibiu, play in the Municipal Stadium in the Parc sub Arini.
