Sibiu Romania : arrival
Sibiu's bus terminal and train station are on the northeast side of town. To reach the centre, cross Piata 1 Decembrie 1918 (still generally known as Piata Garii) and follow Strada General Magheru up the hill. The airport is on the western edge of town, and linked to it by buses to and from the TAROM office at Str. Balcescu 10 (Mon-Fri 9am-5pm; tel 069/211 157); alternatively you can take bus #11, #20 or trolley bus #T8. There are four flights a week from Bucharest Otopeni, continuing to Munich. Tickets for Brescia (with Grivco) can be bought at the airport (tel 069/229 235 or 229 269). The CFR office for train bookings is at Str. Balcescu 6 (Mon-Fri 7.30am-7.30pm).
The Prima tourist agency at Str. Cetatii 1 (daily 8am-4pm; tel 069/411 788) stocks the good Transpress town map, while the Lutheran Pfarrhaus , Piata Huet 1 (tel 069/211 203), sells a leaflet (currently in German only, with summaries in English) describing the town's new Kulturweg circuit of information signs, as well as a book listing accommodation and walks in the Saxon villages to the north.
