Caldarusani Monastery

It was built by the ruler prince Matei Basarab and later painted

Snagov Monastery

It is located on a small island on Snagov Lake, so implies boat
transfer to reach it. This 14th century church is one of the most
beautiful in Romania, following the architectural patterns that is
characteristic to the monasteries from the Holy Mount Athos.
On the island, the Romanian ruler prince Vlad the Impaler, more
known after his nickname – Dracula, built a jail with torture
chambers where the prisoners were killed and then thrown into the
lake. Here it is supposed to be also the tomb of this cruel
prince, even though the archaeologists discovered it empty. From
the end of the 17th c. on the island were printed religious books
in Romanian, Slavonic, Greek and even Arabic.
Mogosoaia Complex Palace

It is situated in a splendid park on the shore of Mogosoaia Lake.
The palace was built in 1698 -1702 by Constantin Bracoveanu - a
famous Romanian ruler prince. It is an architectural monument
having the façade dominated by traditional staircase balconies,
and by the arcades and columns with capitals, specific to the
Romanian architectural style.
Mogosoaia Palace has also some Byzantine decorative features and
adornments which join stylistic elements characteristic both of
the Italian Renaissance and the Baroque.
